We are excited to announce a new feature to Orbee’s platform: Traffic Source Segmentation. With Traffic Source Segmentation you gain the ability to segment your shoppers based on how they're finding your website. The creation of these segments are completely automated by Orbee’s tracking script, so you can spend more time launching your campaigns instead of writing queries to build the segments you want to target.

This information can be leveraged to optimize your marketing efforts, reduce ad spend, and provide a more personalized customer experience. In this blog post, we'll discuss the benefits of Traffic Source Segmentation and how it can help your dealership grow.

The Power of Traffic Source Segmentation

Where to find the list of Traffic Source Segments and how many users are within each segment

With the introduction of Traffic Source Segmentation, you'll have access to a powerful new way to group up your shoppers.

When you push this segmentation data to advertising platforms like Google and Facebook, you can create highly targeted campaigns that cater specifically to the needs and preferences of your visitors. This can lead to higher conversion rates, as you're able to reach users with content and offers that resonate with them. You can also generate lists of identified users within these segments for email marketing campaigns and you can target these segments when they visit your website with personalized pop-ups, banners, or messages.

Using Traffic Source Segments to Personalize Customer Experience

Through Orbee’s website personalization product you can target users within source / medium segments with personalized messages or offers to provide a better customer experience. A better customer experience means visitors stay on your website longer and convert at a higher rate.

The graphic above provides an example of personalizing a website with various pop-ups, banners, and messages based on which source / medium the website visitors are coming from. These on-site messages can provide continuity in your shopper’s journey by using similar copy and graphics the user originally saw on the social media ad that led them to land on your website.

Another valuable application of Traffic Source Segmentation is in A/B testing. By segmenting your website visitors based on their source and medium, you can test different website layouts, messaging, and offers to find the combination that works best for each segment.

Reduce Ad Spend by Leveraging Traffic Source Segments

Utilizing source/medium segments effectively in audience managers of advertising platforms can yield significant value. These segments can be targeted with tailored ads or even be placed on exclusion lists to prevent displaying certain ads to them. Below are some approaches to consider when leveraging source/medium segments to potentially decrease your ad spend:

Exclude users that come from Organic sources

Capitalizing on organic engagement is a strategic approach for savvy marketers. Visitors who consistently reach your dealership's website via organic social media posts may not warrant prioritization in your paid advertising efforts. Orbee's cutting-edge platform empowers you to create tailored segments of website visitors originating from organic sources, such as those who have engaged with your website at least two or three times. By pinpointing a sweet spot for frequent organic visitors, you can optimize your marketing investments, leveraging the organic traction you've already established without incurring additional costs.

Exclude users that come from Email sources

If your email campaigns are generating a strong segment of website visitors you can exclude those email clickers from being shown ads since your emails are driving traffic to your site for free. By excluding these engaged email recipients from your paid ad targeting, you can focus on reaching new audiences while still benefiting from the high-quality, cost-effective traffic generated by your email marketing efforts. This approach allows you to allocate your advertising budget more efficiently and maximize the return on investment from both your email and paid advertising campaigns.

Conclusion: Unlocking the Full Potential of Traffic Source Segmentation

The implementation of Traffic Source Segmentation on Orbee's platform offers a wealth of opportunities for your dealership to grow and thrive. By harnessing the power of this feature, you can gain a deeper understanding of your website visitors, optimize your marketing efforts, and create more personalized experiences.
